My super-talented friend Jonathan (co-owner of the magnificent Oxenrose) and I have been busy in the studio making autumn garlands. I spent Saturday in the woods gathering inspiration, and today finished putting metal tops on these cute little acorns to string up. There will be various themed garlands, mobiles and ornaments…all available soon! But for now, the prototype. . .

Hope your week is going wonderfully! xo

Finally! The BookBook for iPad is out (I just ordered the red one)!

And how awesome are these fish-eye and macro lenses for your camera phone (not just iPhone)?! Very awesome.

I’m back home after a weekend excursion down to Nashville. . . a much needed and much enjoyed little road trip. . . on which we ate delicious southern bar-b-que, picked up some wonderful vintage trinkets and charms in 5 Points (which will soon find their way into new jewelry pieces), and saw Ray LaMontagne and David Gray in concert – amazing!!
To end our long weekend, today we went out to the Kentucky State Fair. My mother was 2 squares from finishing a quilt to enter in the fair before she passed away this summer. So, my aunt finished it beautifully, entered it, and it won a ribbon! It’s such a bittersweet moment, but I’m extremely proud of her. . . I just wish she could have seen her ribbon.

Also at the fair. . . cute animals!

Tomorrow, it’s back to work! Have a fabulous week! xo

I recently joined Pinterest, and have been spending an inordinate amount of time there this week…I just can’t help myself! (You can check out my boards or follow me here. Beware. It’s addictive.)

Aside from pinning this weekend, I’ll be soaking up the lovely weather outside with the kids, and celebrating Martin’s birthday with a little excursion down to Nashville for the Ray LaMontagne/David Gray concert! See you next week! Have a wonderful weekend! xo

We are officially kicking off our weekend here! Martin and I are taking tomorrow off to spend together – yay! It’s been a while since we’ve had a completely free day. Before I “leave” for the weekend, I’m finishing listing some new pieces in the shop, such as. . .

a new, oxidized version of the Harper earrings. . .

What do you have planned for the weekend? I hope it’s fabulous! xo

My most anticipated album of the year (maybe 2) can be streamed on NPR today. I absolutely cannot wait to see him play these songs live!

There have been so many projects at our house this summer that it’s been hard to keep the blog updated! Last weekend we celebrated the triplets’ half birthday, and our resident painter got her own little easel. . .

The kids met a new friend next door from Burma. And there has been a lot of playing in the chicken coop and swimming.

Our mourning doves had sweet little lovebird babies, tucked safely within the wisteria!

An array of vintage made its way into the studio this week, and new projects are underway.
(These will make a fabulous belt buckle.)
This wonderful Charley Harper lithograph arrived!

We’re also starting to work on an exciting installation piece, which I’ll post about as it progresses!
Hope you’re all having a fantastic summer and have a lovely weekend! xo

Happy Wednesday! There are some new things in the shop this week – among them is this Glow Necklace, made from vintage Lucite buttons (used as beads) in varying colors. It reminded me of a bouquet of balloons, which makes me kinda happy!

Hope you’re having a wonderful week! xo

3 years ago on a lucky Friday the 13th in July I married my best friend…

He never ceases to amaze me, support me, comfort me and love me (and vice versa)… He is my sun and moon, my soul mate…my home…
Happy Anniversary, my wonderful husband…

It’s a rainy, dreary day here today. I think I’ll curl up with these guys and read. I made myself take a little break and stay out of the studio this week, but I’m so ready to get back to work Monday! Have a lovely weekend! xo

Our weekend here was filled with popsicles, painting projects, parks and playgrounds (and some World Cup disappointments). Hope your weekend was wonderful! I’m off to the studio to finish up new pieces for Crescent Hill Art & Music Festival this coming (July 3rd and 4th) weekend. If you’re in Louisville, stop by and see me! xo

I discovered these 19th Century trade tokens last weekend at an antique market, and found them so fanciful that I just drilled holes in them to make pendants, then trimmed them with vintage buttons, charms and garnets. These specific tokens were privately issued by merchants during the Civil War in response to the coin shortage. They are each set on antique bronze chains with hand-formed clasps. They’ll be going to market next weekend at the Crescent Hill Art Festival, unless anyone expresses interest in any of them in the meantime (contact me if so).

Black seems to be the theme in the studio this week. . . with some lighter notes of white and red coral interspersed here and there. Each of these pieces is created with all reclaimed vintage elements – whether it be from local antique markets or my mom’s old jewelry box – aside from the hand-forged hoops and earwires, of course. These are now listed in the shop:

The Loretta Necklace

Salix Earrings

Lady Katherine Necklace

Happy Fathers Day to the most amazing father anyone could ask for. I’m so lucky to have had your guidance and support throughout my life. Your courage and strength during the past couple months has helped us through the worst of times. I’m forever thankful for you, and love you so much.
